NPUSC Hires new Director of Finance

NPUSC is excited to announce the hiring of Mr. Justin Holmquest as the next Director of Finance for New Prairie Schools, replacing Mr. Tim Scott, who is retiring after providing strong service in the role since 2022.  Mr. Holmquest duties will also include serving as Assistant to the Superintendent.

Mr. Holmquest has served as principal of New Prairie Middle School (NPMS) since 2018.  During that time NPMS has posted many successes, including being named a Model PLC School, a Heart Safe School, and a state of Indiana Gold Star Counseling School.  Mr. Holmquest was also named District 2 Indiana Principal of the Year in 2023.

Mr. Holmquest has earned an Educational Specialist degree from Indiana State University, holds an Indiana Superintendent license, and has served on the LaPorte Community Schools school board since 2023, which has deepened his understanding of school finances.  Mr. Holmquest will be stepping down from the LaPorte school board role to focus on his new role at NPUSC.

Mr. Homquest stated about the opportunity, “I am thankful and grateful for this opportunity to continue to serve the students, staff, and community of NPUSC. Becoming a Cougar has been the greatest professional accomplishment of my career and I want to thank the NPUSC School Board and Dr. White for their support. I also want to thank the NPMS students, staff, and community for making my time at NPMS filled with amazing accomplishments, opportunities for growth, and many great memories. I am looking forward to contributing to NPUSC in this new capacity as we continue our culture of excellence, high expectations, and learning for all.”

Paul White, NPUSC Superintendent, stated about the opportunity, “we are excited to have Mr. Holmquest join our central office team.  He has been very successful in everything he has done in education, from teacher to principal.  He has a well-rounded knowledge of how schools succeed that will be an asset to district administration.”

The NPUSC School Board of Trustees approved the recommendation unanimously for a three year contract to begin July 1, 2026, after completing this school year as New Prairie Middle School Principal.
