WELCOME TO ROLLING PRAIRIE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Families, we enter this new year after a fantastic first semester! So many things to celebrate and be proud of as a school community with our academic growth, increase in attendance and seeing “BARK in Action” across the building. Thank you for the extra time and effort you’ve put in at home to help make sure your child is prepared and ready to learn each and everyday. A united front makes all the difference with students seeing the support from home to school and back again. This next semester will bring about new challenges as we continue learning grade level skills as well as the many tests that students take.

As stressful as tests, grades and homework can be, I want us to remember that none of these things define a student. We are a place of academic learning, but we also are about the whole child here. Your child’s passions and interests, ability to show up with executive functioning skills, and having the kindness with character that people matter – that’s just as important. We desire to teach and equip students here at Rolling to be good people and to make the world around them better than how they found it, no matter how small. I’m a firm believer that when you take care of the right, foundational things, the rest falls in place as it should.

So as we hype up testing to do your best, getting a good night’s rest and eating well, and having a positive attitude that you can do this – we know that your child is more than a score. All we can ever ask of anyone is to truly give their best. As we show progress, make gains, and compete against ourselves, that’s what matters. I know as I chat with my kiddos each day about school, we emphasize the right attitude, work ethic and empathy towards others because that’s what matters most. We look forward to the many great things that will happen this next semester, stay tuned! 🙂
