NPUSC Curriculum Director Announcement

On May 9th, 2022 the NPUSC School Board met in a special meeting to approve current NPHS Principal Jen Sass as the next NPUSC Director of Curriculum.

Mrs. Sass has served as NPHS Principal since 2016 and has distinguished herself as a strong and engaged instructional leader. She also has experience at various levels of a school system, previously serving as a middle school/grade six teacher in Language Arts and teaching in a self-contained classroom environment (all subjects).

Mrs. Sass was selected after two rounds of interviewing that included an initial first round interview committee and final round interview. The transition will begin in July 2022 and a search for the next principal of New Prairie High School will begin immediately. Mrs. Sass will be replacing Dr. Carrie Cannon as NPUSC Curriculum Director, who left in April to become Superintendent at Fairfield Community Schools.

Dr. Paul White, NPUSC Superintendent, stated the following about the hiring, “Mrs. Sass has done great work at NPHS, and we think she will have the same type of positive influence on all K-12 curriculum and student learning. She has the respect of our staff-school community, has been a critical part of our implementation of Professional Learning Communities, and we will be ready to move our student learning processes even further under her leadership.”
