New Prairie United Schools (NPUSC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Pamela Moore as the next principal of Rolling Prairie Elementary School. Dr. Moore brings a wealth of experience as a highly successful elementary teacher and administrator. Dr. Moore is a graduate of Chesterton High School and has earned masters and doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership from Purdue University. Dr. Moore taught for nine years as an elementary teacher at the kindergarten and grade four level in the Duneland School Corporation in Chesterton, Indiana, then began her administrative career in 2014 at Discovery Charter School in Porter, Indiana, where she has served as principal since 2017.
Dr. Moore has distinguished herself as an educational leader that has strong partnerships with teachers and parents, and is known for her advocacy for all students. While at Discovery, the school was recognized by the state of Indiana with the distinction “Family Friendly School” due to its efforts to include families in the school and learning process. Also, the U.S. Department of Education awarded Discovery the “Green Ribbon School” award for its work incorporating healthy living, sustainability, and outdoor classroom approaches utilizing the Indiana Dunes National Park. Finally, Dr. Moore is known as an enthusiastic, empathetic, and motivational leader that works to improve all facets of the schools she is involved in.
Dr. Paul White, NPUSC Superintendent, stated the following about the opportunity for NPUSC to hire Dr. Moore, “We have really enjoyed getting to know Dr. Moore in the interview process and we are confident she is the perfect leader to move Rolling Prairie Elementary forward. She leads through relationships, compassion, but also with great drive to be the best. We are confident the Rolling Prairie staff and students will be positively impacted by her leadership and we look forward to supporting her efforts with our staff to move our school forward to even greater heights!”
