NPUSC Families and Staff,

NPUSC has been working on updates to our second semester Attendance Plan after reviewing the latest guidance from the Indiana State Health Department, reviewing academic data, December survey data, and discussions internally.  Included in this email is a summary of our new Attendance Plan to begin February 1st, 2021.

Attached is the Indiana State Dept of Health Guidance from 12/15/20 that informed the updated plan and a more detailed document with rationale/details behind the Attendance Plan.

Summary of Second Semester NPUSC Attendance Plan decisions includes:

  • NPUSC will continue 50% Attendance Hybrid though Jan 29th for all K-12 schools as a COVID precaution
  • Beginning Feb. 1st, NPUSC will be in Full Attendance Monday-Friday for all grades K-12 anytime the COVID Metric is Blue, Yellow, or Orange the prior week for LaPorte County
  • Beginning Feb. 1st, anytime the COVID Metric is on Red the prior week for LaPorte County, NPUSC will be in Full Attendance Monday-Friday for all K-5 Elementary schools, with Secondary schools on 50% Hybrid due to more student mixing daily

The attached NPUSC document goes into more detail on guidelines for when NPUSC would move a classroom or school to 50% Hybrid or E-Learning due to in-building COVID concerns.

These decisions have not been taken lightly and much consideration has gone into this process.  We will continue to monitor the regional/local COVID situation and make adjustments when appropriate.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions

Virtual Academy Registration-Final Opportunity

NPUSC would like to offer a final opportunity for families to enroll their students in the NPUSC Virtual Academy for the second semester.

If you are interested in virtual enrollment for the second semester, please follow the link below by January 15th.  The Virtual Academy option will be closed after Jan. 15th.

Note there is approximately a two-week transition period from registration to beginning online curriculum at home.  Students opting for the Virtual Academy second semester will have to stay enrolled in the Virtual Academy for the full second semester.
