New Prairie United Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Jordan Staus to be a middle school social studies teacher and the next varsity volleyball coach at New Prairie High School.  Ms. Staus is a 2007 graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School near Joliet, Illinois, where she was a standout high school volleyball player.  She continued her playing career as a Division I athlete at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, graduating in 2011 with a degree in secondary education with licensing in social studies.

For the past six years Ms. Staus has been the varsity volleyball coach, high school social studies teacher, and student council sponsor at Eastside Jr.-Sr. High School near Fort Wayne.  During this time, the Eastside volleyball program has revived to post improved records and played for a sectional championship for the first time in many seasons.  Also, Ms. Staus has stayed active in travel volleyball and has coached in the Pineapple Travel Volleyball Club of northeastern Indiana for the past six years and currently coaches the 16’s team.  Ms. Staus comes highly recommended from not only her current school, but from Lloy Ball, Pineapple Volleyball Club Director and former U.S. Men’s Olympic Volleyball Player.

Ms. Staus will begin her responsibilities teaching social studies in August and has plans to begin summer workouts for the volleyball program this June.
