What is a "state recognized certification or an Indiana Certificate of Technical Achievement in the technical or career program?" |
The Indiana Certificate of Technical Achievement is currently available in nine areas: 1) Advanced Manufacturing, 2) Electronics, 3) Bioscience, 4) Plastics, 5) Printing, 6) Health, 7) Metalworking, 8) Child Care, and 9) Business Management and Finance. To receive the certificate, students complete worksite scenarios while an observer notes demonstrated skills. The certificate includes a letter of introduction, description of the assessment, and a list of skills aquired.
The Indiana Department of Education will develop criteria for state-approved technical or career programs and an application process for state approval for "state recognized certification" of technical and career programs. A list of state-approved programs would be published. |
